Clay Kim, DDS, MD
Dr. Clay Kim was raised in Ellicott City, Maryland. He started his undergraduate study in Ohio State University where he played lacrosse for two years. Then, he transferred and graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a degree in Marine Biology. Dr. Kim then earned his dental degree from Columbia University’s School of Dental Medicine in New York, NY. After dental school, Dr. Kim completed his internship in John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, TX.
Following the internship, Dr. Kim started a six year residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. During this time, he completed a two year training in General Surgery and earned a medical degree from Drexel University’s School of Medicine. Dr. Kim was trained in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery including advanced orthognathic surgery, complex maxillofacial trauma surgery and facial reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Kim is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery and a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. His practice focuses on the disciplines of ambulatory parenteral anesthesia administration, third molar (wisdom tooth) removal, bone grafting, dental implantology, reconstructive surgery, and orthognathic jaw surgery. Dr. Kim holds staff privileges at Washington Hospital in DC and Calvert Memorial Hospital. Dr. Kim is married and resides in Owings with his wife, Josie, and their two children, Anna and Nate.
